One person whose research I thought it would be interesting to consider is Anthony D’Addario. Anthony attended Colgate University for his undergraduate degree, majoring in both physics and applied mathematics and graduating in 2019. Anthony is currently a graduate student at Cornell University in the Department of Physics, working as part of the Fuchs Group, which is directed by Associate Professor Gregory David Fuchs.
The Fuchs Group, which Anthony is a part of, studies spintronics and quantum information science. To conduct their research, they manipulate and study spin and optical degrees of freedom in solid-state materials. Their work stems mainly from the fields of atomic physics, materials science, and electrical engineering. Two of their main focuses are hybrid quantum systems and spins and spin dynamics in materials. One interesting application of their research is the potential to develop future technologies based on spin.
